TALLMAN, Joan (Dubuque, IA, Aug. 8, 1947--Dubuque, IA, Dyersville, IA, Mar. 29, 2017) The daughter of John "Doc" KAMMER and his wife Grace (Yaeger) Kammer, Joan graduated from the ACADEMY OF THE VISITATION (THE) in 1965. She married Leo A. Tallman on April 25, 1966, in Dyersville, Iowa.

Joan started the hobby of genealogy while her children were in school. She tracing her father's line in Switzerland back to 1506. In recent years, she felt honored to help the Sisters of the Visitation in writing the history of their order, published in December 2013 with the title, The Bond of Love, Visitation Yesterday and Today.
