KOPPLE'S MARKET
KOPPLE'S MARKET. Opened in 1924, KOPPLE'S CASH MARKET at 1098 University Avenue became known for selling aged beef from the DUBUQUE PACKING COMPANY and the habit of Harry KOPPLE for passing out free candy to children.
In October 1993, Kopple's daughter, Sonia Kopple Hickson, announced that the famous store would be sold to Tom and Barb Kraus, owners of Moundside Orchard and Bakery of Sherrill on November 30th, 1993. She began working at the store at the age of 12 and began running the business around 1973.
