KAISER'S VINEGAR WORKS. Kaiser's Vinegar Works were established by AUGUST KAISER on February 1, 1856, at the corner of Sixth and White STREETS. (1) In 1866, Kaiser became associated with A. Kammen in the business. This arrangement, however, ended after only one year. (2)

In the fall of 1868, in order to meet the increasing requirements of his trade, he built a new works at Pine and Ninth STREETS. (3) This was later used by the MISSISSIPPI VALLEY VINEGAR, MUSTARD AND PICKLING WORKS in 1877 when Kaiser sold out. (4)


In 1890 the business yielded $25,000 annually.
