MISSISSIPPI VALLEY VINEGAR, MUSTARD AND PICKLING WORKS. The company was established by John GLAB in the spring of 1873 and located on Iowa Street, between Second and Third STREETS. (1) In 1877 he moved his business to the corner of Ninth and Pine Streets and added pickling and mustard to his trade. (2)

Glab employed ten workmen at a weekly salary of $75. In 1880 his annual income from the company was $20,000. The company's products were shipped south of Davenport, two hundred miles north of St. Paul and through Chicago. (3)
