CLARITY CLINIC
CLARITY CLINIC. In May, 2016 a new Dubuque clinic offering crisis pregnancy services moved into the former space occupied by PLANNED PARENTHOOD. Formally located at 2100 Asbury Road,Suite 6, Clarity Clinic was backed by right-to-live groups and had served 768 clients during 2015. (1)
The center offered specialized medical services, resources, education and referrals for those facing a crisis pregnancy. Services included pregnancy tests, limited obstetrical ultrasound by a registered nurse with the supervision of a physician, post-abortion counseling for men and women and selected tests for sexually transmitted diseases. The center was also planning pregnancy and sex education outreach programs as well as free birth and delivery classes. The Dubuque center would be one of 1,100 Care Net-affiliated pregnancy centers in the United States. Clients were served without regard to religion. Clarity Clinic was entirely funded by donations and immediately began a five-year capital campaign to pay off the cost of the building.
