PRIDE PARADE
PRIDE PARADE. Held on Saturday, June 27, 2021, the event unlike smaller parades in the past, was Dubuque's first official "Pride Parade." Beginning at the intersection of Fifth and Main STREETS, past the "Solidarity" mural on FIVE FLAGS CIVIC CENTER to the GRAND RIVER CENTER where many participants remained for a festival featuring drag performances. Members of the parade included drag queens, religious groups, community organizations and residents of the community.
The event was planned by Key City Pride, an organization founded in 2019 by partners Corey Young and Drevonte Morse. Volunteer Genesys Trujillo, leader of the parade committee, stated that diversity and inclusion were goals of the event.
