P. B. MERKES. The 1868-69 Dubuque City Directory listed the CONTINENTAL HOTEL.

The 1875-1876 Dubuque City Directory gave the southeast corner of 8th and Main as the address of this barber.

The 1880 Dubuque City Directory stated that this business was located at 1688 Clay.

The 1884-1885 Dubuque City Directory gave the northwest corner of 8th and Iowa.
