DUBUQUE LARD-OIL, SOAP, AND CANDLE FACTORY. The Dubuque Lard-Oil, Soap and Candle Factory began business on October 22, 1855, under the new name of F. M. PLEINS & CO. with three employees. (1) Beach joined the firm by purchasing the interest owned by Jesse P. FARLEY. (2) This company became PLEINS & BEACH.
