WINALL, Samuel Smith (Cincinnati, OH, Mar. 29, 1834--1901). In 1843 Winall and his parents came to Galena, Illinois. He moved to Dubuque in 1864 and went into business with his partners in the firm of PALMER, WINALL & CO., blank-book manufacturers, printers and book-binders, on the corner of Sixth and Iowa STREETS.

Winall was a member of the I.O.O.F. for twenty-five years and served as Grand Master of the State and Grand Patriarch. He was a charter member of the Order of Workmen and also of the LEGION OF HONOR.
