LEGION OF HONOR. Chapman Lodge No. 27, Iowa Legion of Honor, was chartered and organized in July, 1879. Like other fraternal organizations of that time, the Legion was formed to promote fraternal feelings and give financial aid to the widows and orphans of members.
In 1933 the lodge had fifty members and met semi-monthly on the first and third Wednesdays in the Temple of Honor building.
