ANDERSON, Alexander. Erie County,PA--Unknown). In 1842 Anderson emigrated westward and settled in Dubuque. He worked as a surveyor. In 1855 Anderson drafted a map of the mineral lots of Dubuque which was still used as authority at the end of the 19th century.

The DUBUQUE CENTRAL IMPROVEMENT COMPANY was organized January 23, 1857, with a capital of $2,100,000. The corporators were Jesse P. FARLEY, Franklin V. Goodrich, Austin J. Goss, Robert C. Waples, Christopher PELAN, Robert M. Walmsley, Alexander ANDERSON and Frederick E. BISSELL. (1)
