TAYLOR, Eugene
On December 3, 1906 the Telegraph Herald announced a series of cartoons representing some of the leading businessmen in the city. CAREY, Eugene. (Shullsburg, WI, Apr.1, 1879-- ). Educated at Stone's College in fitting and cutting, Carey came to Dubuque in 1899 and established the Dubuque Tailoring Company. He bought out his partner's interest the following year and renamed the business Carey Tailoring Company and listed in the commercial directors at CAREY, THE TAILOR. In 1911 he was carrying a stock valued at $7,500 and had a yearly income of $25,000.
