CAREY, Eugene. (Shullsburg, WI, Apr.1, 1879-- ). Educated at Stone's College in fitting and cutting, Carey came to Dubuque in 1899 and established the Dubuque Tailoring Company. He bought out his partner's interest the following year and renamed the business Carey Tailoring Company and listed it in the commercial directories at CAREY, THE TAILOR.

Around 1901, Carey and Sam Brin formed a partnership as managers of the Dubuque Tailoring Establishment. In 1911 the company was carrying a stock valued at $7,500 and had a yearly income of $25,000.
