WAITE, Arthur R. (Buddy). (Merritton, Ontario, Canada--Dubuque, IA, Oct. 28, 1945). Waite emigrated from St. Catherines, Ontario, where his father operated Canada's first cotton manufacturing mill. Settling in Dubuque, he became a member of the training staff at the stock farm of Frank D. STOUT.
Waite later entered the livery business by owning a stable at 11th and Central. When automobiles arrived in Dubuque, Waite converted the stable into a garage.
In his later years, Waite was hired by Bart L. MOLO to be the manager and trainer at SILVER ACRES. Waite held the position until January 1944.
