CARLISLE COMMUNICATIONS. Provider of pre-printing services. Founded in 1978 by John B. CARLISLE, a former production division director for the WILLIAM C. BROWN COMPANY, the company began with five employees. By 1987 the workforce had grown to seventy. About 80 percent of its employees were full-time. By providing pre-print services to major magazines and book publishers, Carlisle Communication reported an annual growth of 30 percent from 1984 to 1987.
