Trewin, Clifton Baker. (Meacham's Corner near Glen Ellyn, IL, July 13, 1863--Dubuque, IA, Jan. 2, 1940). Auditor. Trewin moved to Dubuque in 1885 and studied law.  In 1887, he and W.A. Leathers bought the books and data of Taymor Connell and became abstractors.  Trewin remained in this business the rest of his life eventually forming C.B. Trewin, Inc.  He was also the owner of the Fenelon Place Elevator for many years.  Appointed county auditor on February 1, 1923, when the resignation of [[BREITBACH, Cletus|Cletus BREITBACH]] took effect, Trewin served until December 31, 1924.
