DAYKIN, Allen. (Center Grove, Jan. 3, 1887--Dubuque, IA, Nov. 28, 1972). After spending nearly thirty years as a deputy county auditor, Daykin was appointed auditor in 1937 upon the resignation of Peter J. KIES. He served until December 31, 1950 when he was replaced by Harold P. MELOY who defeated him in the Democratic primary.
Daykin became the office manager of the THOMAS J. MULGREW COMPANY in January, 1951. (1)
