Naughton, the former Peggy McCarthy, served as state and regional coordinator of the National League of Families of Prisoners and Missing in Southeast Asia. Navy Lt. Commander Robert Naughton, a former [[LORAS COLLEGE]] student and member of the Duhawk's basketball team before his graduation in 1960, was shot down during the [[VIETNAM WAR]] on May 18, 1967 and identified as a prisoner in December, 1970. He was released on March 1, 1973 with seven other prisoners with ties to Iowa. (1)
