NAUGHTON, Peggy. (Dubuque, IA- ). Naughton, the former Peggy McCarthy, served as state and regional coordinator of the National League of Families of Prisoners and Missing in Southeast Asia. She was also president of Iowans Care during her husband's imprisonment during the VIETNAM WAR.
Navy Lt. Commander Robert Naughton, a former LORAS COLLEGE student and member of the Duhawk's basketball team before his graduation in 1960, was shot down on May 18, 1967 and identified as a prisoner in December, 1970. He was released on March 1, 1973 with seven other prisoners with ties to Iowa. (1)
