YOUNG MEN'S UNION DANCING CLUB. Students of Professor Mahler wishing to practice their dancing skills hired the GERMANIA BAND and scheduled a dance at LORIMIER HALL every two weeks. (1) The initial dance was held on the evening of September 7, 1866 and "was attended by a fashionable and select party of young folks, principally between the ages of ten and twenty years. (2) The third "hop" of the club was scheduled for October 5, 1866. Tickets cost gentlemen one dollar while ladies could attend free. The events were described as orderly and well conducted. (3)
