WONDER SHOWS OF AMERICA
WONDER SHOWS OF AMERICA. Sponsored locally by the DUBUQUE TRADES AND LABOR CONGRESS, the show came to Dubuque in July 1946. The shows involved more than 25,000 electric light bulbs and over three miles of neon tubing. Five all-steel electric light towers, each 60 feet high illuminated the midway. The shows included "Gay Paree," "Texas on Broadway," and the side show where two of Ripley's "Believe It Or Not" were on display.
