WERTIN SODA WATER COMPANY. Established in 1906, the Wertin Soda Water Company was located at 2082 White Street and moved around 1911 to Couler Avenue. It manufactured soda water, ginger ale, lemon sour, seltzer and orange soda. The company bottled a "coco cola" product but found so little interest in it that the product was discontinued. (1)

These products were popular summer drinks in Dubuque and shipments were made to southwestern Wisconsin and East Dubuque. (2) The company had the capacity of manufacturing 150 cases of soda water daily. (3)

The 1909 Dubuque City Directory gave the address for this business as 2082 White.

The 1911-12 Dubuque City Directory listed 2293 Couler.

The 1916-1917 White's Dubuque County Directory listed 317 Kaufmann.
