VAN MILLIGEN, Nancy. (Lansing, IL-- ). Nancy Van Milligen came to Dubuque in 1993 when her husband Michael VAN MILLIGEN accepted the position of city manager. Her leadership roles have included helping to organize Every Child-Every Promise and work with the Tri-State Community Health Center, Iowa Empowerment Board, Mercy Health Center Board, DUBUQUE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY board and member of the Dubuque Empowerment Board. She has served as vice president for institutional advancement at CLARKE COLLEGE, area administrator for the Iowa Citizens Foster Care Review Board, and chair of the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service.
In 2003 Van Milligen was named CEO of the COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF GREATER DUBUQUE. The foundation helps donors target their giving to people and organizations and makes grants to nonprofit organizations. The work of the foundation helps donors maximize the benefits of charitable giving.
Van Milligen received the Iowa Governor's Volunteer Award in 2002, Dubuque YWCA Women of Achievement recognition in 2001, Tanner Company Legacy Award for Community Service in 2001 and the Dale Carnegie Highest Achievement Award in 1999.
