VALENTINE HERANCOURT HOME. Located at 888 Yale Court, the Herancourt House may have been built previous to 1859 when he acquired title to the property. Robert Waller, a miner from England, was the first owner of record of the property. The land was considered a valuable mineral lot when Waller purchased it in 1847. He sold the land two years later to Lawrence Maloney who then sold it to Judge Thomas S. WILSON. Two years later Wilson sold the land to Francis Mangold.

In 1855 the land was sold to William Foster who then sold it to Valentine HERANCOURT. The title to the land remained in the Herancourt family until 1907 when Dr. James Sidemen purchased it and laid out a subdivision called Oxford Heights. In 1912 Dr. Alderson subdivided the land surrounding the Herancourt home as Yale Court.
