TREXLER, John
TREXLER, John. (Dubuque, IA, 1856--Dubuque, IA, 1925) Trexler was educated in the parochial schools and then took a course from the BAYLESS BUSINESS COLLEGE. He clerked in the mercantile firm of N. Eichman & Company until 1877 when he established his own grocery store. He was the sole proprietor until 1890 when his brother joined the business which was renamed J. & A. M. TREXLER.
Trexler was also a part owner of the TREXLER LIVERY COMPANY. In 1886 he was elected to represent the Third Ward on the city council. In the next election, he was re-elected to the same position.
