TRENK WIRE WORKS

TRENK WIRE WORKS. Owned and operated by Henry F. Trenk, the company was established in 1880 and located at Fourth and Iowa STREETS. (1)
In 1910 the company was the only factory between Detroit and San Francisco which wove wire cloth for screens and seives and was the largest factory of its kind. Employing eight workmen, the company produced wire and iron fencing, office railings, elevator enclosures, any kind of ornamental iron work, sieves, and wire cloth for all purposes. The company was bought by the ADAMS COMPANY (Encyclopedia Dubuque) in 1919 due to the illness of Henry F. Trenk. (2)
The 1909 through 1911-12 Dubuque City Directory gave the address of this company as 402 Iowa.
