T. Y. S. In June, 1878 the young members of the Universalist Church organized a society for literary and musical enjoyment. By May, thirty members were listed.
The first meeting was held in the home of R. E. GRAVES. After electing officers, the program began with a piano duet by the Cragin sisters. The evening continued with a few quotations read or recited, a piano solo was performed and then a vocal trio was presented by the Balch sisters. A half hour's worth of conversation was followed by waltzing. At 10:00 p.m., the limit set by the group's constitution, the meeting ended.
