SWISS VALLEY CHALET / Spielman's Supper Club / Bally Clough Inn. Located four miles south of Dubuque on the MILITARY ROAD, the Swiss Valley Chalet was opened in 1948 by Fred and Martha Wiedmer.

Ownership of the supper club was changed in 1956 to Ralph and Dorothy Kirchen when its popularity was reinforced by being included in the Ford Treasury of Favorite Recipes, AAA's North Central Tour Book, and was Duncan-Hines approved.

The supper club was sold in 1977 to Chuck and Helen Spielman who changed the name to Spielman's Supper Club and then Bally Clough Inn from 1986 to 1990.

The 1951 and 1955 Dubuque City Directory listed Highway 151 S.
