SINIPEE WRITERS' WORKSHOP
SINIPEE WRITERS' WORKSHOP. In an article published by the Telegraph Herald, John TIGGES claimed that we was sitting in a seminar when the idea came that the city of Dubuque could have a gathering of writers and aspiring writers. He approached Valorie WOERDEHOFF with the idea and together they launched the first workshop in 1986.
In 1997 Tigges announced that he would make this the last conference he directed. Woerdehoff had stopped directing conferences earlier due to conflicting commitments. Attendance at the annual event had grown to between 75 and 100 with LORAS COLLEGE planning to continue the program.
