Schwartzberg, Irwin. (England, 1907-- ). Inventor of Realemon. Schwartzberg, resident of Dubuque until he entered college, helped the Army develop powdered lemon juice used in K-rations during WORLD WAR II. Following the war, he found a ready market for reconstituted lemon juice since it had an indefinite shelf life, eliminated the need for squeezing, and could be provided in measured quantities. His product, Realemon, became a national success.

After he sold it to the Bordon Company in 1962, Schwartzberg served as the president of Amco Industries, the largest distributor of Toyota Automobiles in the world.
