SANCHEZ-PHILIP, Ann Marie
SANCHEZ-PHILIP, Ann Marie. (Dubuque, IA, Aug. 5, 1950--Kennewick, WA, Jan. 12, 2016). The daughter of Robert and Jane (Bierie) McGovern, Ann graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, with a degree in psychology. Upon graduation, she worked as a stewardess with American Airlines. After traveling the world, she decided to make her new home in the Tri-Cities area in Washington.
Ann worked with Allstate Insurance for many years before relocating her time and talents to the United Way. For ten years, she served as president and CEO of the Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce. She was also director of alumni services for the UW-Platteville. For three years, Ann was the development coordinator for the WSUTC. As division director for the Tri-City's March of Dimes, Ann was honored to have raised over $2.5 million dollars. Before she was forced to retire due to her ALS diagnosis; she also worked with the Girl Scouts of eastern Wash and northern Idaho as head of program development. She was also very proud to be a founding member of Desert Sun Guild, which generously supported the Seattle Children's Hospital.
