RUFF HOUSE
RUFF HOUSE. Reflecting his own interest in martial arts and the popularity mixed martial arts had in the media, Dave Kelley chose to open his own gym in October, 2010. Located at 605 West Locust, Ruff House offered Kelley and Rick Casarez, former NCAA All-American wrestler at LORAS COLLEGE and mixed martial arts fighter, as the head coach.
In addition to mixed martial arts, the center offered yoga and a "punch fitness" power hour between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. daily. During this hour, participants trained as though they were preparing for a prize fight wearing boxing gloves to strike heavy boxing bags and shadow box.
