ROTH, Meredith
ROTH, Meredith. (Dubuque, IA-- ). Roth was a 2004 graduate of Providence College and earned a bachelor’s degree in social science. She was a four-year member of the women’s ice hockey team and served as an assistant captain and co-captain during her junior and senior seasons. She helped the team to an ECAC East Tournament Championship in 2002 as well as two Hockey East Tournament Championships in 2003 and 2004. (1)
As a member of the U.S. Women’s National Team, Roth played with the U.S. Under-22 Select Team. Expected to win the 2003 International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championship in China. Days before the event, the program was canceled due an outbreak of SARS, a form of coronavirus, which killed at least 57 people and sickened an estimated 1,600 worldwide. (2)
Meredith Roth served as an assistant coach for the U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team at the 2020 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship in Bratislava, Slovakia, helping the team win its eighth gold medal in the event. She most recently served as an assistant coach of the U-18 Team at the 2019 Under-18 Series vs, Canada in Lake Placid, N.Y. Roth served as the associate head women's ice hockey coach at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts for the 2019-2020 season. (3)
She previously served four years as head coach of St. Norbert College’s NCAA Division III women’s ice hockey program. She led the Green Knights to an appearance in the NCHA Championship game in 2016. At St. Norbert, Roth was in charge of all aspects of the program including designing and executing practice and game plans, managing the budget and business operations, developing assistant coaches as well as her student-athletes, and heading recruitment and retention efforts, just to name a few. She also served as a Western Region Representative for the NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey Regional Advisory Committee as well as on the American Hockey Coaches Association’s National Issues Committee. Prior to her time at St. Norbert, Roth served as an assistant coach at Providence College, first from 2006-2010 and then again from 2012-2015. She helped lead the Friars to a Hockey East Regular Season Championship in 2010. Roth also served also as a volunteer assistant coach at Cornell University and as the head coach of the Shattuck St. Mary’s School’s U-16 team. (5)

Roth went on to earn her masters degree in sports management from the State University of New York – Cortland in 2013.
