RODGERS, Robert
RODGERS, Robert. (North River, NY, May 5, 1807--Dubuque, IA, Nov. 25, 1869). Rodgers' parents came to Dubuque as part of the "Philadelphia Colony" in 1836. The immigrants purchased a deed of land north of Tenth Street from Peter LORIMIER for $200.
Lots along Main Street cost $50; Locust, $25, and along Bluff, $15. All property was distributed through a public drawing. Rodgers later built many of the buildings in the area and constructed an addition to the fort at Prairie du Chien.
