RICHARD MORRILL

RICHARD MORRILL. Located on the future site of the SECURITY BUILDING, the grocery of Richard Morrill in 1867 was on the corner. Next door, to the north, was the T. Longhurst Hardware Store. Upstairs in the rear of the building was the S. S. Root photography gallery.
Morrill's business must have been profitable. In 1899 it was announced in the Dubuque Herald that he and his wife were taking a three month vacation to New England.
The 1858-1859 through 1861 Dubuque City Directory listed Main between 10th and 11th.
