RHOMBERG, Titus E. (Dubuque, IA, Mar. 18, 1865--Dubuque, IA, 1945). The youngest son of Joseph Andrew and Catherina Rhomberg, Titus E. was educated in the public and parochial schools of Dubuque and ST. JOSEPH COLLEGE. He left there to attend Canisius College, at Buffalo, New York.
Rhomberg went abroad and for five years studied in the Royal Saxon School of Mines, Freiburg, Saxony. In 1891 he returned to Dubuque and later went to Argentine, Kansas as assayer and chemist for the Kansas City Smelting & Refining Company. He remained a short time because of ill health, and then came back to Dubuque. After recuperating, he became associated with the DUBUQUE STREET RAILWAY COMPANY which was controlled by his father until it was sold.
