RHOMBERG, Karl J.
RHOMBERG, Karl J. (Dubuque, IA, Nov. 4, 1896--Dec., 1947). Employed from 1917 to 1927 with the DUBUQUE TANNING AND ROBE COMPANY, Rhomberg renamed his father's company the RHOMBERG FUR COMPANY after succeeding his father as president in 1927.
Among Rhomberg's civic commitments were his presidency of the board of education in 1935-1936 and his membership on the Playground and Recreation Commission and Chamber of Commerce. He was chairperson of the DUBUQUE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA Drive in 1939 and 1940. Rhomberg served as a director of the IOWA TRUST AND SAVINGS BANK and the DUBUQUE THRIFT PLAN and he was president of the 660 Shooting Club of the DUBUQUE SHOOTING SOCIETY.
