QUEBECOR WORLD DUBUQUE. Quebecor World Dubuque is a subsidiary of Quebecor World (USA) Inc., the largest commercial printer in the world with an estimated 40,000 people. The Dubuque operation, which opened in October 1996, specialized in the professional and college-printing markets, is one of 160 Quebecor World facilities worldwide. (1)

In 2002 Quebecor World Dubuque Inc. announced a $24 million expansion plan expected to create more than one hundred new jobs within three years. This would be in addition to the present 227 employees. The company announced that it would invest $4 million in its existing Kerper Boulevard operation and $20 million in new equipment. (2)

In 2015 Quebecor World Inc. despite bankruptcy issues planned to expand its Dubuque facility with a near $20 million 40,000-square foot addition and modernization, but at the cost of twenty-three jobs. Initially the company would cut its 369 work fore to 333, but then would create thirteen new jobs. The updated equipment would increase efficiency but require fewer workers. (3)
