PEOPLE'S BAKERY CO. People's Bakery was incorporated in April, 1892 by J. F. Gandolfo and H. A Moyes. Involved in the making of bread and crackers, the company was located in the Brunskill Building at the corner of 8th and Locust STREETS. (1) In June their delivery wagons were not yet in operation, but sales were scheduled to begin on June 14th at the bakery. A large loaf of bread cost five cents, while three ordinary-sized loaves cost ten cents or eight for twenty-five cents. (2)

In June 1894 the company announced that it had installed steam-powered freezers and was ready to supply "ice cream and other ices" to the community (3)

The 1909 Dubuque City Directory located this business at 88 8th.
