PEAVEY COMPANY (THE)
PEAVEY COMPANY (THE). Frank H. Peavey opened Peavey Grain in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Soon after, he invented the grain elevator still used today. Privately owning and operating 70% of grain elevators in the world, the company went public in 1973 and then became ConAgra Inc which in 2024 owned 16% of the world’s wheat milling capacity.
In 2024, the only outdoor event center, and fountain park, located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, is the “Peavey Plaza”, which stands to commemorate Frank Peavey. Renovated in 2020, the park is listed with the National Register of Historic Places. (1) Other family members have achieved success in other fields.
The 1989 through 1993 Dubuque City Directory listed the end of E 7th St.
