P. FLANNERY
P. FLANNERY. The 1875-1876 through 1878-79 Dubuque City Directory gave the address as 537 Main.
In October 1878, Flannery put everything involved with his business up for auction and went out of business. (1)
There were rumors that he was going to move to Nebraska, but within days of his "closing," Flannery announced that he would reopen in a building adjacent to the GERMAN BANK. He would not, however, be offering his patrons organ music as he had previously. (2) The new bar was to be called the "Merchants' Exchange."
