MULGREW BLACKTOP, INC. Mulgrew Blacktop, Inc. was established in 1943 by Thomas James MULGREW and his Robert. At its peak in 1977, the company employed forty people.
The slump in the national asphalt industry and poor forecasts led the company to close in 1978. The asphalt-laying equipment was sold at a July 25th auction. The company's land and office remained with plans to remain active in the bridge construction business.
The 1955 Dubuque City Directory listed Huff Street Extension.
The 1959 Dubuque City Directory listed 510 Huff.
The 1970 Dubuque City Directory listed Center Grove Road.
The 1972 through 1977 Dubuque City Directory listed 3350 Center Grove.
