MIDWAY MOTOR LODGE/HOFFMAN HOUSE RESTAURANT. Located on 3100 Dodge Street (Highway 20) east of KENNEDY MALL, the motor lodge and restaurant, separate businesses, opened for business in October, 1979 amid a recession.
The motor lodge advertised sixty rooms surrounding the lodge's indoor swimming pool would be available first. In October another 95 rooms in the adjacent four-story building would be opened. Poolside rooms would cost $29 for one person and $39 for two. Rooms in the adjacent building were $2.00 less.
The average price for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Hoffman House Restaurant was $1.80, $3.00 and $8.00 respectively. The main dining room had seating for 206 while the lounge seated 260.
