KOENIG, Sam
KOENIG, Sam. (Dubuque, IA--- ). Koenig was standout soccer athlete at WAHLERT CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL where he helped the team to a Class 2A state championship and a third-place finish in the 2016 state tournament as a coach. As a defensive player at LORAS COLLEGE, he played in four consecutive NCAA Division III tournaments including a national championship.
In 2016 Koenig coached the Loras women's lacrosse program. He guided the team which won five games in 2015 to a program-record seven-win year in 2017. He also served as an assistant with the Loras men's and women's soccer programs. Koenig was also a director and board member with the Key City Soccer Club.
In 2017 he was announced that Koenig had accepted an assistant coaching position with the Dominican University soccer program.
