KADESKY, Max
KADESKY, Max. (Winstead, CN, 1901--Dubuque, IA, Aug.14, 1970). While a student at DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, Kadesky participated in basketball, track, and football. His specialty was football, and he served as captain and coach in his senior year.
Following his graduation, Kadesky attended the University of Iowa where he was an end on the school's first unbeaten, untied team in 1921. He was one of the seven Hawkeyes named in the All Big Ten that year, and the team was named the National Champions. He was also a member of the 1922 team that went unbeaten and untied and shared the title with Michigan. In 1922 Kadesky was named to the Walter Camp All-American second team. He played one season of pro-ball with the Rock Island Independents before retiring from the game.
Kadesky was the 63rd president of the Iowa State Dental Society and the first president of the Dubuque chapter of B'Nai Brith. He served on the board of the BOY SCOUTS, GIRL SCOUTS, and was a president of the Kiwanis.
In 1997 he was inducted into his high school's Hall of Fame.
