JONES BROTHERS GARMENT COMPANY
JONES BROS. GARMENT CO. The company was established in Dubuque in 1899. (1) It went out of business in 1902 and did not resume business until a reorganization was made and additional capital brought to the company. (2) The business was incorporated in 1907 with its factory located in a three story building at 356-364 Main Street. A staff of fifty was employed.
The Jones Bros. factory by 1910 only manufactured "Little Tudor" play suits and "Little Tudor" night gowns, both for children. The company was the originator of these garments and sold the first in Chicago department stores. More were sold outside than within the borders of Iowa. (3)
The 1904-1905 Dubuque City Directory located this business at the southwest corner of Iowa and 3rd.
The 1909 through the 1916-1917 White's Dubuque County Directory listed the address as 364 Main
