The 1899-1900 Dubuque City Directory listed the southwest corner of Main and Jones.
The building on Main and Jones was five stories tall. The basement and first floor contained the heavy goods including steel and iron. Lighter goods were stored on the remaining floors with buggy stock and trimmings on the fifth floor. An elevator at the rear of the building hoisted heavy articles. A railroad spur was constructed in the same location for their benefit.
