JAEGER, Oscar

JAEGER, Oscar (Dubuque, IA, 1887--1958). The brother of Frank M.JAEGER, Oscar and Frederick J. KUNNERT organized the JAEGER-KUNNERT COMPANY in 1912. Kunnert later purchased the interests of his partner in 1927 and became the sole owner of the company.

Oscar was a soldier in WORLD WAR II and a world traveler. He wrote The Great Grand Canyon Adventure, a book based upon his journey down the Colorado River from Lee's Ferry to Needles, Arizona in 1927. He also made line drawings of shooting the rapids, which are printed in his book.

Jaeger was a member of the Elks Lodge, a 40-year member of the American Legion, and was a patron and member of the DUBUQUE ART ASSOCIATION.
