INTERNATIONAL HYPOTHECATE BANK
INTERNATIONAL HYPOTHECATE BANK. On December 11, 1896 articles of incorporation were filed with the Dubuque County Recorder for the International Hypothecate Bank by Henry A. Cors and James J. Hoch of Chicago. The principal place of business was to be Dubuque.
The authorized capital was $10 million. Since those incorporating the bank and all the directors were from Chicago, it was thought that the purpose of establishing the bank was to take advantage of Iowa's liberal laws of incorporation.
