INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE OF THEATRICAL STAGE EMPLOYEES
INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE OF THEATRICAL STAGE EMPLOYEES. Employees of DREAMLAND THEATRE, DREAMLAND THEATRE NO. 2 AND THE PRINCESS THEATRE organized this union on October 17, 1912. It was first of its kind to have been started in Dubuque and was to be affiliated with the Trades and Labor Congress and the American Federation of Labor. Elilible workers included operators, property men, fly men, electricians, and grips. There were twenty-five initial members. Operators at the three theaters ran union slides on the screens prior to the showing of pictures.
